The special Friday of the year

I've been looking for a good rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow in jazz. Posted a fb status on it and oh boy, I realise I do have some very musically inclined friends around me. People who can really do a jazz piece as easy as eating chicken wings.

One friend of mine went to the extent of searching Youtube for a clip with the piano playing in the background and the score shown clearly in the video. I'm serious, I can just copy it wholesale and play it if not for the fact that it wasn't in the key I needed it to be.

I do appreciate the thoughtfulness of others. Is that what they say in mandarin: jiang1 xin1 bi3 xin1? Ok for the sake of the jiak gan dangs, it basically means I'm a heart person.

Thank God the heart is intact. And thank God He searches the hearts.

Anyway, when I was a kid I asked my father why isn't Good Friday called Bad Friday instead, since Jesus had to die on the cross that sounded like real bad news to a 6 year old child. He replied "Don't view it that way. Jesus came to die for you and me so that we can be rid of our sins and gain eternal life, so that is good news!"

The 6 year old kid still didn't understand at that time. But now she knows it's definitely Good Friday. A sinless man died for the sins of others and even had the power to conquer the grave and be risen in three days. That must be the greatest and most powerful news ever. He lived, He died, He rose again on high. He opened the way for the world to live again. Hallelujah, for all You've done.

And anyway, I really wasn't trying to be funny when I asked such questions. Kids just do the strangest things :D
